RULES OF PREAPARATION FOR EEG

STANDARD EEG – IN WAKEFULNESS

  1. The day before the test, wash your hair.
  2. On the day of the test, do not use hair products (e.g. varnishes, mousses, gels, conditioners).
  3. You should come to the examination after eating a light meal
  4. ALL medications SHOULD BE ALWAYS TAKEN as directed by your doctor. It is only necessary to report to the technician performing the examination information about the medications taken! (you can prepare a list beforehead)
  5. Fever, low-grade fever and antibiotic therapy are excluded.
  6. A minimum of 7 days must have passed since the last dose of antibiotic to be able to perform the EEG.

SLEEP-DEPRIVED EEG

  1. Stay awake from at least 6PM the day before, up until the examination.

  2. Do not drink coffee, strong tea, energy drinks, alcohol for 24 hours before the examination – the essence of this study is to examine the patient who is as tired as possible.

  3. We recommend coming with someone who will take care of you after the examination.

  4. Do not drive after sleep deprivation !!!

  3. Older children who do not sleep during the day should be woken up approx. 2 hours earlier than they get up naturally and not led to fall asleep until the examination.
  4. It is imperative to ensure that the child does not fall asleep in a car on the way to the clinic !!!
  5. The child should be dressed in comfortable pajamas, you can take your favorite items with you – favourite cuddle, beloved blanket or pillow.
  6. ALL MEDICATIONS SHOULD BE ALWAYS TAKEN as directed by the attending physician, it is only necessary to report to the technician conducting the examination about the medications they are taking.
  7. We do not give sleeping pills to a child!
  8. Fever, low-grade fever, immediately after vaccination, and antibiotic therapy are excluded. A minimum of 3 weeks must pass after vaccination to be able to perform EEG. A minimum of 7 days must have passed since the last dose of antibiotic to be able to perform the test.
